Affirmations: Friendship with God
By Neale Donald Walsch
Introduction
I speak with God and walk alongside God, for I have a real friendship with God.
I AM a bringer of light; I can follow God and be changed, or I can lead others to God and change the world.
Chapter 1
I no longer fear God, but find God a teacher, master and friend.
Chapter 2
We are attracted to others knowing that in each other we will find our Selves; we are all One.
For the entirety of my life and everything good, decent, creative or wonderful I may have done with it, I thank my dearest friend and closest companion – God.
I want a friendship with God that is functional and useful.
I begin my interaction with God with a conversation; if that goes well, we form a friendship; if that goes well, we experience oneness, a communion.
God and I are one right now. I choose to destroy the illusion of separation and experience that oneness.
I experience and express God when I write lyrically, speak poetically, smile lovingly, sing and dance.
As I come to know God, I come to know myself.
I live as if money doesn’t matter; I use it and share it. Money is like everything else in life – God’s energy.
Life was created for us to enjoy it. I joyfully accept all good things in life and share these things as well.
Chapter 3
I only make promises that I can keep.
God created only Perfection. Every soul is perfect, pure and beautiful… God’s perfect beings may do imperfect things, yet everything that occurs in life occurs for a perfect reason.
A true friendship is something to be used; you can’t break it no matter how many times you use it.
Chapter 4
In my friendship with God I do the same things I do with my other friends: know him, trust him, love him, spend time with him, do things for him, thank him and let him do things for me.
Chapter 5
I am willing to see God where I find him, not only where I expect to find him. I come to recognize him again.
I am open to new ideas about who God is. I am ready, willing and able to embrace a God who loves and embraces me unconditionally.
I know I am on the path back to God when I am in tune with the Ten Commitments made by God to the human race.
(from Conversations with God - Book I)
My mind holds the past, my body holds the present and my soul holds the future. I access what I remember about God through my mind; I access how I feel about God through my body; I access what I know about God through my soul.
My soul knows ME intimately, because it is the part of me that is closest to God. When I find myself, I find God.
My ego is necessary for me to have an experience in this world as a separate entity. When I experience who I really am – part of the oneness of God and all things – my ego disappears. My self as an individual is an illusion my ego creates.
I have free choice in what I experience in this world. I will seek to find my way home, and find that God has always been there. I experience atonement – or at-one-ment – that I am one with everything, including God.
I neither rest on my laurels nor dwell in my failures; rather I begin anew in each golden moment of Now.
When I want to change habitual behaviors or ingrained character traits, I ask myself, “Is this who I am?” and “What would love do now?” I am free to create who I want to be. From now on, I am the product of my highest wishes. I am continually creating myself; it is the purpose of my life.
Every decision I make is a decision about who I am. My choices define me. In my life review, I experience the impact, the outcome and results of my choices and decisions.
As I let go of fear, fear lets go of me. As I release guilt, guilt releases me.
Chapter 6
I allow myself to believe what I always knew in my heart and wanted to believe about God – that God’s love for me is unconditional.
Whatever I need is already mine; I need not even ask. God meets all my needs.
I trust God because I don’t have to. My trust becomes knowing. I let go and let God.
I happily accept whatever shows up. I know that life is perfect, the human experience playing itself out.
I am grateful for the worst things that happen to me so that they can serve me and help me heal. At some level, I intended them. All results are for my highest good.
When I have no preference about what happens in my life, I have achieved acceptance. I assume that all things are what they are meant to be.
The secret of a happy life is not to have everything I want, but to want everything I have.
I have intentions rather than expectations or requirements. My inner decisions about my circumstances are the source of my happiness.
Since that which I condemn stays in place, I refrain from judging people and events as good or bad. I release all self-defeating thoughts about myself and see myself as I really am – a perfect child of God.
All possible outcomes already exist. I produce an outcome by the choices I make.
What I intend at my soul level is to produce outcomes that reflect my current level of consciousness so that I can experience who I am. My purpose is to re-create myself anew in the grandest version of the greatest vision I hold about who I am.
When I am in my elevated or Christ consciousness, I am fully integrated and creative.
Chapter 7
I am a model to the children in my life, supporting and empowering them at every opportunity. I am involved in their lives and teach and model a culture of nonviolence.
As a friend to God and to others, I tell the truth, give and accept support, and give and receive unconditional love.
I wish to live a long life of peace, harmony, health and abundance. I accept God’s guidance in how to achieve that.
I am aware that nothing happens by accident; I look for the good in every person, situation and event.
At my deepest level, God’s agenda and my agenda are the same; I ask for and receive as I request. I decide what it is I choose and God makes it possible. I see that what happens to me is for my highest good.
The events of my life are part of the process of life itself – of me becoming all I can be.
I use the gifts that have been given to me as an expression of who I am.
In helping to heal the world I say, “Ours is not a better way; ours is merely another way.”
The expression of love in all forms is pure, true and appropriate. Love that is pure and true damages or hurts no one.
I express love freely and seek nothing in return. I place no limitation on another; my love has no ending, but goes on forever. It experiences no boundary or barrier. It is free; for freedom is the essence of what God is, and love is God expressed.
Chapter 8
I transform my relationship with God and form a friendship with God. This friendship transforms me.
All that I am within my Self is all that I require in order to express all that I am outside of my Self. I have no other needs. This is also the true nature of God, as I am the image and likeness of God.
There is nothing I need to be perfectly happy; I find my most perfect happiness within.
I know myself by simply being quiet, sitting with my Self in the stillness.
God’s love for me is without condition and without limitation and without need.
When I love someone, I love them without condition, without limitation and without need. I allow them total freedom to be who they are and love then exactly as they are. I love God in the same way – unconditionally.
I live my life understanding that its purpose has nothing to do with what I get out of it, but everything to do with what I put into it.
I create my Self anew - becoming, expressing, fulfilling, experiencing and knowing my own true Self.
In my relationships I live in truth; I am true to myself, to my partner, and to all others. Honesty is the highest form of love.
I place limitations on what I choose to experience, excluding abuse. I can change a relationship rather than end it; I always have a relationship with everyone, but have different kinds of relationships with different people.
I release my neediness, expectations and jealousy in relationships in order to improve them, and to improve my relationship with God.
Chapter 9
I create from a state of being, rather than from a state of mind.
I become aware that everything I wish for and seek has already been created. I recover what was lost.
I choose the way I respond and I create my own reality. I determine what everything means. I create my own experiences, regardless of what happens to me.
When I am aware of my feelings, reactions and decisions, I may make another choice.
I choose to be wise, wonderful, compassionate, understanding, patient, forgiving and happy.
I need nothing and no one outside of myself.
To be close to God, I go into the silence, being with my
Self and God – who is One with the Self. In the silence, I find the center of
my Self; as I find the essence of my soul, I find oneness with God.
From a center of wholeness I seek to be with others to share my heart.
I touch others as I would have my Self be touched; I see others as I would have my Self be seen; as I embrace others, I embrace God.
There is no person, condition or circumstance that love cannot heal; I give love to the people and conditions I find hard to love, and give up resistance and negative attitudes about them.
I call forth talents I am unaware I have by pressing myself to do so. Life begins at the end of my comfort zone; I reach higher than my grasp.
Chapter 10
I move forward in life, never looking back. My life is in front of me.
My purpose in life is to recreate myself anew in each moment in the grandest version of the greatest vision I ever held about who I am.
All of life is an illusion; I now deeply experience the Ultimate Reality of Oneness with God and with everything and everyone.
What I carry in my mind about the world is what I see in the world. I carry thoughts of what I want my life to be.
God uses me as a means of expression; I use God as the creative power within me to create the world of my dreams.
God is the process of life. I use God consciously with awareness and intention to form my reality and create my experiences.
I use the tools and gifts given to me – creative energy, gentle wisdom and pure love.
Wisdom allows me to recognize the truth and separate it from appearances.
Pure love allows me to bless others and accept them without condition.
This is the eternal moment, the time of my new deciding.
Chapter 11
In Ultimate Reality, God and I are One. The separation I experience in human form is an illusion.
God creates through me. I help that process by re-membering who I am – by becoming a member once again of the body of God.
I live my life deliberately, harmoniously and beneficially. I use well the gifts I have been given of creative energy, gentle wisdom and pure love.
I help God when I help myself to God - for this is the food of life, by which all things are nourished.
All people want to be heard. I am determined to be a good listener.
My soul selects the persons, places and conditions that provide perfect experiences for me to play my role in this world. I accept that nothing happens by accident.
Chapter 12
When I step back far enough, I see beauty in the intricate and delicate weavings of the fabric of my life. I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities I receive.
Today is a new day; I make a choice to create anew my personal relationship with God.
Life sends me good things faster when I remember to be grateful.
I create most effectively when I create from the supraconscious – the true state of who I really am.
BEING causes everything; what I am being, I experience.
With my thinking I create my immediate experience. When I consciously use I AM statements. I live deliberately, from intention.
Rather than consciously thinking about what I am being, I just BE it. I live in this moment. Being is instant.
I feel love and gratitude before I think about them. Gratitude is a state of being in which I understand that I already have all I need. It is already in place.
When I thank God, I state that I am aware that I already have good things in my life. When I thank God, I am helping God to help me.
In the moment of my total knowing, I feel as God does: totally joyful, loving, accepting, blessing and grateful.
Chapter 13
Laughter heals me; I have a good laugh at myself every day.
I am expressing joy in my life right now - the free flow of energy of the Oneness.
With others I create joy – by sharing feelings, telling the truth, ending anger, healing judgments, listening, forgiving, giving, receiving and releasing.
I live fully now, finish my unfinished business and live life fearlessly so that I can embrace death when it comes without regret.
Chapter 14
I keep my eyes and ears open to the messages God sends me;
I have a conversation with God every moment of every day.
I seek eternal truth with never-ending determination. I
recreate who I am.
God is always with me, whether I remember it or not.
Sadness and God cannot exist in the same place because God is Life Energy,
turned up as high as it will go. I turn up my Life Energy.
I am reminded of what I know by the people in my life.
